New Orleans, LA

This past evening we had no where to stay. Rather than sleep in the van, a few of us took refuge inside the lobby of the Sheraton New Orleans, and initially figured we'd sit at tables in the lobby all night. Bryce and I, over the course of a few escalator rides and much careful deliberation, figured we could sneak into one of the larger conference/ball rooms and sleep underneath the temporary stage set up there. So we did. The five hours of sleep were interrupted by plenty of rolling on the stiff carpet, but the air conditioning was similar in temperature to what I imagine space is like. Honestly it was too cold, I was freezing all night, but there is really no room to complain in choosing between bayou heat vs. industrial air conditioning.  We woke up a bit before 8:00 and left for fear of a conference starting in the room. Exiting the area while a presentation was being made on the stage would have been such a chore.

Thanks to the wonderful employees of the Sheraton New Orleans for being ignorant to five semi-conscious individuals under your ballroom stage. Your caring and consideration are inspiring.
